Shame

This week we reached a milestone: I took Ada to school earlier than normal, and walked down to keep her company, at least until the official “you may leave your children here” time kicked in. As we started down the driveway to school, though, she announced that I could not come down: parents are not allowed to come to school with their children, they need to stop at the road.

The absurd transparency of this story could be seen from the fact that as we walked down we were flanked by, well, other parents walking their kids to school.

So, a milestone, of sorts: we have apparently reached that point where it is too dreadfully embarrassing to be seen with one’s father.
