This year I had the pleasure of presenting at the Sysadmin Miniconf for linux.conf.au 2014 in Perth; you can see the presentation in all its glory here; it’s a rumination on how I moved from being rather hostile to systemd to being rather enthusiastic about it, which was quite a turn-around for me.
I ran out of time since even ruthless pruning, from the original 30 minutes to the 15 minutes available, wasn’t enough to squeeze it all in; however, I had a very positive audience reaction, and people were kind enough to let me know how much they enjoyed it. More importantly a number of people said it had spurred them to give systemd a go and see what it could do for them.
Many thanks to Simon Lyall and Ewen McNeill for (once again) organising the miniconf and giving me a chance to present.
