Round up

The Worldwatch Institute’s slip is showing. Given how disproportionate the US’s resource consumption is, I don’t think the problem is developing nations (although they have the potential to become one); the problem is if the rest of the world follows US consumption patterns.

Australia, for example, has thus far resisted the temptation to build equivalents of Phoenix or Las Vegas. Perhaps China and India can do the same.

And what do you call it when the espionage wing of a nation murders 18 people in a nation with no declaration of war? State sponsored terrorism, WMDs, must be time for an invasion, right?

(Hope those villagers don’t have any relatives in, say, New York, with a hankering to cause mayhem on the subway. But that would be cowardly and evil, right?)

But don’t refuse nukes the US wants to shove down your throat. Or else.
